Big weekend…
This weekend was a huge weekend for us. From Friday afternoon when I got my official African vaccinations at my local travel clinic (smiling before, frowning after), a small hike at Dixon Lake with just Erica, Tara and Zack on Saturday, and then a HUGE hike today at Elfin Forest with Penny included plus a friend of Erica’s, Travis. It was a huge success but everyone was beat and sun-drenched from the weekend. Right now I am even fighting to keep my eyes open so this is going to be short. All in all, we are 11 days now from attempting something historic. Stay tuned….

About me
We are headed to Africa to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with two challenged athletes. Our goal is to raise awareness for individuals with physical challenges so they can participate and compete in the sports they love with portions of the proceeds to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation. By providing opportunities and resources needed for active lifestyles, CAF enhances these individuals’ self-esteem, independence and quality of life.In January of 2010, we start our journey from Los Angeles International Airport and head towards Tanzania, and we would like to invite all of you to follow along!
